It is a great pleasure to invite inte­re­sted rese­ar­chers to apply for a workshop on incre­a­sing work-based learning in school-based VET systems in Central and Eastern Europe. Junior rese­ar­chers (late PhDs, Postdocs) are par­ti­cu­lar­ly welcome to apply! Successful appli­cants will present their papers at the 5th Crossing Boundaries taking place in Kaunas, Lithuania, in May 2023 and par­ti­ci­pa­te in workshop acti­vi­ties such as keynote speeches and field visits. Junior rese­ar­chers’ accom­mo­da­ti­on and tra­vel­ling expenses linked to the con­fe­rence will be covered up to 700 EUR. 

It will be an excellent oppor­tu­ni­ty for par­ti­ci­pan­ts to share their newest sci­en­ti­fic work in the field of gover­nan­ce of VET in Central and Eastern Europe. The call is directed at research con­tri­bu­ti­ons that focus on how the design of edu­ca­tio­nal policies and systems, insti­tu­tio­nal settings, and actors and stake­hol­ders can con­tri­bu­te to accom­mo­da­ting the various interests and logics that arise when intro­du­cing coope­ra­ti­on-intensive work-based learning in pre­do­mi­nant­ly school-based VET systems. Contributions can be made within various disci­pli­nes (Education science, Political science, Economics, Sociology, History, etc.).

In addition, we are sup­port­ing a junior rese­ar­cher with a research grant inte­re­sted in rese­ar­ching and col­la­bo­ra­ting in this par­ti­cu­lar field. The deadline for appli­ca­ti­ons is also the 31 August 2022.
