Literacies and Contemporary Society: From Skills to Practices

6th LitConCY

Organiser: Cyprus Pedagogical Institute, the Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth (Cyprus) and the University of Cyprus

Literacy, and particularly what it means in 21st-century adult and lifelong learning contexts, is at the heart of the conference. The theme “From Skills to Practices” underlines the shift from simply measuring basic skills to how those skills are used in real educational, social and professional practices.

Technological, social and cultural changes (e.g., digital tools, multilingualism, cultural diversity and AI) are making new literacies and related basic skills ever more critical for participation and inclusion in modern societies.
If you work in adult learning, basic skills provision, literacy education or related policy work, this conference could offer valuable insights, networking opportunities and inspiration.
