Apprenticeships for the Union of Skills and the Clean Industrial Deal

    2025 High-Level Event

Veranstalter: European Alliance for Apprenticeships (EAfA)
The 2025 edition of the High-Level Event comes at a pivotal moment, as the European Commission has recently unveiled two new flagship initiatives emphasising the crucial role of skills development for a competitive, inclusive, and green Europe:
    • Union of Skills: a strategy designed to support upskilling, reskilling, and the development of high-quality, inclusive and flexible education and training for all.
    • Clean Industrial Deal: a multi-annual plan aimed at aiding traditional energy-intensive industries to decarbonise, with an emphasis on promoting skills development and quality employment.
In light of these developments, the High-Level Event will offer a platform to discuss the contribution of apprenticeships to both initiatives. Key topics will include the impact of work-based learning on supporting clean technologies and green skills development for all learners; the enhancement of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education within apprenticeships related to clean technologies and energy-intensive industries; and ensuring the human capital necessary for building a strong, future-ready Europe.
    The event will aim to:
    • Explore how apprenticeships can contribute to the Union of Skills and the Clean Industrial Deal initiatives.
    • Advocate for quality apprenticeships as an important tool to develop key skills in the workforce, and supporting the green transition and clean technologies.
    • Encourage current EAfA members to strengthen their commitments and invite new organisations to join the Alliance.
    • Enhance the visibility of key EAfA stakeholders and their contributions towards quality apprenticeships.
The High-Level Event is scheduled for the afternoon of 30 June and the morning of 1 July.
Following the High-Level Event, the Get Together Event will take place in the afternoon of 1 July 2025. Driven by EAfA members, this event will offer participants the opportunity to network and explore cooperation opportunities.
