Implementation of the EU27+ national implementation plans for VET

Interim findings of Cedefop’s policy monitoring

Veranstalter: CEDEFOP - European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training

A workshop will be organised by Cedefop to discuss the progress of EU27+ countries in implementing the Council Recommendation on VET and the Osnabruck Declaration. Participants will discuss and validate Cedefop’s findings from national stakeholder interviews (conducted in April – July 2024) in combination with the analysis of the measures reported by ReferNet in line with countries’ national implementation plans. Selected stakeholders, European and national, including those interviewed, will take part. Among the issues, the participants will discuss how stakeholders assess the progress of their countries, differences in perceptions, main obstacles to achieve the priorities and areas to work on in the future. The outcomes will feed into preparation of the synthesis report and developing policy pointers on areas to work in the future. (Invitation only)

Learning Across Continents: Conversations in a divided world

VETNET

Topics:

  • How do we understand the role of VET in preparing young people for work when labour markets and workplaces are in flux nationally and internationally?
  • Is this changing the nature of VET and VET curricula? Is it raising new questions on work, labour markets and education? What is core to VET that is stable across different contexts?
  • Are systems looking more similar or more different from each other?
  • What are the main factors—such as workplace organisation, changing labour markets, changing enrolment in schools and universities, and the nature of economies that are influencing different aspects of VET provision—such as curriculum, governance, partnerships, enrollment patterns—in different countries?
  • How do we connect better as researchers, and use VET research to build connection?
