Record participation in CVET in Vienna

Career guidance and support services by waff were increasingly used in 2023. In a recent press conference, waff representatives and clients appeared together with Peter Hanke, City Councillor for Economic Affairs. Günter Hefler was invited as an expert.

The Vienna labour market is highly dynamic and the number of jobs is increasing. The demand for skills is high and many employees are opting for vocational education and training to improve their prospects on the labour market. The Vienna Employment Promotion Fund (waff) supports people seeking guidance and offers funding opportunities for various target groups.

In 2023, 13,084 employed Viennese were supported in their training and further education activities, 18 per cent more than in the previous year. In total, they received funding amounting to 17.7 million euros, an increase of 45 per cent compared to 2022. In his statement, Günter Hefler emphasised the important role of waff, which can provide a decisive impetus for people with career change or development aspirations to actually implement them.
