TRANSVAL-EU — final conference in Stockholm
At the end of one of the largest European policy experiments on the validation of non-formal and informal learning, around 100 policy makers, experts and validation and guidance professionals met to discuss the policy implications of the outcomes of the TRANSVAL-EU project.
The ambitions and achievements of the project were presented by Karl Andrew Muellner (OeAD, NQF Coordination Point), Pauline Boivin (Lifelong Learning Platform) and Maurice De Greef (Vrije Universiteit Brussel). On behalf of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research Eduard Staudecker was one of the panel speakers, representatives from the Swedish Ministry of Education and the National Agency for Education, the Nordic Council of Ministers, the European Commission and the OECD also contributed to the programme. In addition, policy makers from the other field trial countries (Belgium, Italy, Lithuania, Poland) were involved in the discussion on the inclusion of transversal competences in national action plans.
While the focus on the first day of the conference was on questions of the political implementation of new approaches to making transversal competences visible and recognised, the second day focused on the field trials conducted in the partner countries. In four parallel workshops, participants also had the opportunity to reflect together on possible future scenarios on this topic.
From 3s as Research Partner in the project, Monika Auzinger, Mariya Dzhengozova, Julia Fellinger and Karin Luomi-Messerer had contributed to the results. At the conference, Karin led the workshop “Towards integrated national skills strategies” (see large photo).
