DARYA: Dialogue and action for resourceful youth in Central Asia

International experts met in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, for a peer-learning workshop on “Monitoring of skills demand for relevant qualifications” recently.

The workshop was organised within the ETF DARYA project  (module 1 and 2) and brought together more than 50 stakeholders form Central Asia and the EU. The event emphasized  the use of labour market data, sectoral studies, and employer surveys to inform the development of occupational standards and curricula and showcased practical tools and examples from various EU countries, stressing their role in shaping occupational standards and curricula. Attendees engaged in dynamic discussions, focusing on strategies for sector-specific skill analysis tailored to diverse country contexts. Key outcomes included identifying crucial areas where skill information is vital and crafting recommendations within the DARYA project for future actions.

The workshop’s success lies in its collaborative approach, illuminating the transformative potential of labour market insights in curriculum development and fostering a workforce aligned with evolving industry demands.

Mariya Dzhengozova (3s) participated as a coordinator of the team of DARYA’s international experts on qualifications systems and frameworks: Olav Aarna, Kaie Piiskop, Baiba Ramina and Vidmantas Tūtlys.

More information and the documentation of the event can be found here.
