Final report of ‘The Future of VET’ study published

The synthesis report of the three-year study on the “Future of VET” examines the evolving landscape of Vocational Education and Training (VET) in Europe.

In a comprehensive three-year study, researchers and VET experts from across Europe have delved into the dynamic evolution of vocational education and training since the mid-1990s. The findings of this research shed light on the potential future opportunities and challenges that lie ahead. The synthesis report, an amalgamation of multiple research papers and case studies previously published, presents a thorough analysis of the content and delivery of VET, assessment practices, and the crucial link between initial and continuing VET. What makes this report particularly noteworthy is its inclusion of an in-depth country-by-country examination, highlighting the diverse developments within the European VET landscape.

Over the past three decades, VET in Europe has experienced significant changes and growth, as observed through the identified trends and developments. The report also reveals patterns of convergence between different countries and their respective VET systems. Learn more about the development, disruptions and policy reversals and download the report.
