Global partnerships for excellence in vocational education and training

Monika Auzinger participated in the Global Symposium Partnership for Excellence! in Turin, which focused on international approaches to strengthening vocational excellence.

The Global Symposium Partnership for Excellence! took place in Turin on 8 July 2026. The event was part of the initiative Towards a Global TVET Agenda and was organised by the European Training Foundation (ETF) as part of its contribution to the initiative. Its aim was to discuss international approaches to promoting vocational excellence and to strengthen exchange between policymakers, VET stakeholders, experts and international partner organisations.

The symposium focused on Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVEs), which are increasingly recognised as important drivers of quality, innovation and labour market relevance in vocational education and training systems. Discussions addressed, among other topics, first results from an international mapping of country approaches to CoVEs, a study on production units in VET centres, a practice-oriented challenge-based compendium, and opportunities to use thematic partnerships and a policy platform for future cooperation.

The event provided space to validate emerging findings, exchange practical experience and draw conclusions for the next phase of collaboration within the Global TVET Agenda. A particular focus was placed on the conditions that support vocational excellence, the models that can be effective in different contexts, and the ways in which international cooperation can help address shared challenges.

Monika Auzinger represented 3s Research & Consulting at the event and presented results from the study on „Landscape Mapping of Country Approaches to CoVEs” together with Jolien van Uden (ETF).
