30 January 2024

In memoriam Gerald Heidegger

3s was associated with Gerald Heidegger, Professor of Vocational Education at the Institute for Work and Technology (biat) at the Europa-University of Flensburg, for many years.

Gerald Heidegger was Professor of Vocational Education in Flensburg from 1997 to 2008, but continued to be an active member of the VET research community after that. For example, he supported us with our first projects in Leonardo da Vinci — the European funding programme in the field of vocational education and training, which then became part of the Erasmus+ programme in 2014. He was also an important contact in his role as a VETNET expert. Gerald Heidegger passed away on 10 January 2024 at the age of 80. Our sincere condolences go to Gerald’s family. All colleagues who had the pleasure of working with him will miss him and remember him fondly.
