Appetite for further training

How can the appetite for further education and training be stimulated by money or other measures? 3s researches the broad spectrum of different approaches within the EU and lays the foundations for more supportive policies.

The European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (Cedefop) systematically records the instruments used to promote adult education and training within the European Union: training funds, tax incentives, vouchers, individual learning accounts, loans, educational leave, and many more. With the help of our international network of experts, we have already collected information and data on this in the past and compiled the first dedicated database together with Cedefop.

Our current project pursues two goals: On the one hand, we are collecting the necessary information to keep this database updated and we are developing a comprehensive overview of how the EU Member States and the UK currently support adult education and training. Secondly, in collaboration with Cedefop, we are paying particular attention to developing a new typology of these funding instruments and approaches for evaluating their effectiveness. The focus is on promoting further training in micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).

The study is coordinated by 3s and carried out together with Visionary Analytics as consortium partner and IKEI as subcontractor.
