High-quality teaching about the EU – the Jan Amos Comenius Prize

3s supports the European Commission in the assessment of the applications received for the Jan Amos Comenius Prize and related activities.

The Jan Amos Comenius Prize – named renowned Czech philosopher, pedagogue, and educator – is an award presented by the European Commission. The prize is conferred to recognize outstanding contributions to the field of education and training in Europe. It aims to honour individuals, organisations, or projects that have demonstrated excellence and innovation in promoting lifelong learning, enhancing educational quality, and fostering inclusivity and diversity in education. The Jan Amos Comenius Prize serves as a means to celebrate and encourage initiatives that contribute significantly to the development and improvement of education across European Union member states.

The objective of this specific contract was to support and advice the European Commission’s DG EAC/A1 in the assessment of the 165 applications received from 24 countries for the Jan Amos Comenius Prize and in the information, communication and awareness-raising activities linked to it. 53 experts were engaged to conduct the evaluation. The project was carried out in cooperation with Ecorys (BE).
