The Impact of the COVID-19 crisis on the business co-operation of European universities

3s is examining the current state of European higher education and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on uni­ver­si­ty-business cooperation.

For more than ten years, the European Commission has supported European University Business Forums to share knowledge and ideas between uni­ver­si­ties and busi­nesses and to foster inno­va­ti­on. The University Business Cooperation in Europe platform plays a key role in this. It regularly brings together uni­ver­si­ties, busi­nesses, business asso­cia­ti­ons, civil society actors and policy makers at a European level.

The current work of the University Business Cooperation focuses on the COVID 19 pandemic and its effects, such as social distan­cing through online education or the loss of income for uni­ver­si­ties due to the decline of par­ti­ci­pa­ti­on of inter­na­tio­nal students. It is indis­pu­ta­ble that uni­ver­si­ties play an important role in sup­port­ing economic recovery. 3s acts as a faci­li­ta­tor in this process.
