11 years of ECVET — A review and outlook
A publication on the development and implementation of the ECVET system
A common approach is needed to make vocational qualifications more comparable across the EU. In 2009, ECVET (European Credit System for Vocational Education and Training), a credit point system, was developed and implemented. By focusing on learning outcomes, the system facilitates the recognition of acquired qualifications and professional mobility.
In a recent publication, Karin Luomi-Messerer and Monika Auzinger look back at the development and implementation processes, but also offer a forecast on future European activities in this field.
