European VET instruments
Focusing on ECVET and EQAVET, this study sought to produce a comprehensive summary of national VET developments related to quality assurance and flexible vocational pathways (i.e. action taken to pursue the objectives agreed in the framework of the Copenhagen Process, as defined in the 2010 Bruges Communiqué and the 2015 Riga conclusions), analysing the role that these instruments have played.
Furthermore, based on this information, the study drew conclusions, made recommendations and developed a set of scenarios on how the two instruments can further evolve to better contribute to the EU vocational training policy in the coming years to support and complement national action and to increase the quality and flexibility of their VET systems. It also included to reflect on the links to the other sectors of education and training, in particular higher education and horizontal instruments and tools, such as the EQF, ECTS or Europass.
The study was coordinated by ICF (BE), in cooperation with 3s.
