Results from the project “International dimension of Centres of Vocational Excellence”

This final conference seeks to discuss the findings of the EU-funded project on Centres of Vocational Excellence and a webinar provides insights for the broader public.

The European Commission’s initiative for vocational excellence, known as Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVEs), aims to modernise Vocational Education and Training (VET) in line with policy priorities and to drive reforms in the VET sector by ensuring high-quality skills and competences that lead to quality jobs and lifelong career opportunities. In response to these efforts, the European Training Foundation (ETF) established the ETF Network for Excellence (ENE) in 2020, facilitating international cooperation and knowledge-sharing. Currently, the ENE includes 288 CoVEs from over 40 EU and partner countries, fostering collaboration and dialogue among stakeholders in the field of VET.

The ETF has been entrusted by DG Employment to implement a project under the title “The international Dimension of Centres of Vocational Excellence: Building a strong international cooperation dimension on Vocational Excellence”, which has four main goals with 3s supporting the activities in several sub-projects:

  • Creating an international vocational excellence quality and development tool
  • Explore the feasibility of a Quality award on Vocational Excellence
  • Building evidence to support vocational excellence for the digital and green transitions and in the field of applied research.
  • Policy support activities and capacity building.

The final conference for the project, which will include presentations by 3s experts, will bring together partners from the EU and beyond, as well as representatives from CoVEs in the partner countries of the ETF. While the conference will address invited experts, follow-up events open to the general public will begin with a webinar on Internationalizing vocational excellence: a new self-assessment tool for TVET on 7 November 2023 presenting the work on an International Self-Assessment Tool for Centres of Vocational Excellence (ISATCOVE).
