Pact for Skills helped train 3.5 million workers

At the Pact for Skills Forum recently held in Brussels, key results from the annual survey on the Pact on activities over last two years were presented.

More than 3.5 million workers received training from 2,500 organisations under the Pact for Skills in 2022 and 2023, as the recently published survey demonstrates. Furthermore, the survey revealed that the Pact helped update or develop 48,000 training programmes, with members contributing €310 million. More than 81% of Pact members surveyed believe the Pact is extremely beneficial to their skill development efforts. Members of large-scale skills partnerships that are part of the Pact reported improved monitoring and anticipating of skills in their sector (80%), higher quality (75%), and volume (73%), and made skilling activities more inclusive (76%).

Commissioner for Jobs and Social Rights, Nicolas Schmit, and Commissioner for Internal Market, Thierry Breton presented the survey’s key findings at the first Pact for Skills Forum “Unlocking skills potential across Europe” on 21–22 March 2024. The event brought together policymakers and industry practitioners to exchange best practice and recommendations for bolstering the long-term impact of the Pact. From 3s, Stefan Humpl and Daniel Unterweger supported the event and moderated panel discussions and thematic workshops as part of 3s role in the Pact for Skills Support Services.
