Bringing the EU closer to its citizens — the Altiero Spinelli Prize for Outreach
Since 2017, the European Commission has been awarding prizes to initiatives that improve citizens’ knowledge and understanding of the EU that develop a sense of European identity. Innovative educational programmes, information and communication campaigns, cooperation projects promoting young people’s participation in the democratic process and activities enabling young people to reap the benefits of the EU are all eligible to apply.
The ‛Altiero Spinelli Prize’ awards up to sixteen projects and offers a prize money of up to 25,000 euros yearly. The competition is open to EU citizens and non-governmental organisations based in the EU.
3s coordinated the assessment of the applications by independent experts, the award ceremony was organised by Ecorys (BE).
