Bringing the EU closer to its citizens — the Altiero Spinelli Prize for Outreach

The Altiero Spinelli Prize promotes inno­va­ti­ve projects in order to improve knowledge about the EU where up to sixteen projects receive an award.

Since 2017, the European Commission has been awarding prizes to initia­ti­ves that improve citizens’ knowledge and under­stan­ding of the EU that develop a sense of European identity. Innovative edu­ca­tio­nal pro­gram­mes, infor­ma­ti­on and com­mu­ni­ca­ti­on campaigns, coope­ra­ti­on projects promoting young people’s par­ti­ci­pa­ti­on in the demo­cra­tic process and acti­vi­ties enabling young people to reap the benefits of the EU are all eligible to apply.

The ‛Altiero Spinelli Prize’ awards up to sixteen projects and offers a prize money of up to 25,000 euros yearly. The com­pe­ti­ti­on is open to EU citizens and non-govern­men­tal orga­ni­sa­ti­ons based in the EU.

3s coor­di­na­ted the assess­ment of the appli­ca­ti­ons by inde­pen­dent experts, the award ceremony was organised by Ecorys (BE).
