Learning for the green transition

In recent years, EU policy has been increasingly concerned with the issue of environmental sustainability. With the European Green Deal, the European Commission wants to make the EU economy more sustainable and make Europe the first climate-neutral continent by 2050. As part of this plan, the Commission has launched the Education for Climate Coalition. To support the integration of the green transition and sustainability into education and training, a recommendation has been proposed that later was adopted under the title “Learning for the green transition and sustainable development”. Environmental protection and the fight against climate change is also one of the four priorities of the new Erasmus+ programme for the period 2021–2027, together with inclusion and diversity, digital transformation and more participation in democratic life.
Learning for environmental sustainability — good practice in Erasmus+ Projects
The aim of this project is a systematic survey and analysis of Erasmus+ projects with a focus on learning for sustainable development. In doing so, 15 examples of good practice are extracted from 120 projects and presented in a final report. 3s (Monika Auzinger) coordinates the project. The input of experts supports the selection and comparative analyses. Click here for the final report of the project.
New Council Recommendation on the way
Another project in this field supports the European Commission in preparing the Council Recommendation on learning for the green transition. 3s (Monika Auzinger) coordinates a team of experts and participates in the organisation of expert consultations, the elaboration of thematic contributions to the Commission Staff Working Document and the analysis of the results of the public consultation on this topic.
