Webinars on Current Topics in Vocational Education and Training in Austria and Europe

In May and June 2025, the Erasmus+ VET Team Austria invites to the series “Erasmus+ Vocational Education Brunch”. 3s contributes to the programme with three expert-led sessions.

The Erasmus+ VET Team Austria, based at OeAD – Austria’s national agency for Erasmus+ – provides information and guidance on European developments, instruments, and principles in VET. In spring 2025, the team is once again offering a compact online lunchtime series of practice-oriented webinars on key topics in vocational education and training (VET). The programme is diverse and geared toward professionals and stakeholders in Austria’s VET sector.

3s will be involved with the following three webinars:

  • Monika Auzinger and Karin Luomi-Messerer present the concept of Vocational Excellence, which plays a key role in European strategy papers and the Erasmus+ programme. The session includes practical examples and resources for vocational schools.
  • In the webinar “Implementing the Council Recommendation on Microcredentials – Challenges and Examples”, Karin Luomi-Messerer explores the potential of microcredentials for vocational education and training. The session is complemented by a case study presented by Manuel Pascuttini (Kaos), showcasing how microcredentials can be applied in practice.
  • Tessa Pittrof and Eva Steinheimer lead the webinar “The Role of NGOs in Vocational Education and Training: Innovative Approaches for Disadvantaged Groups”. The session highlights how NGOs and non-traditional training providers use socially innovative approaches to make qualification opportunities more accessible—especially for disadvantaged groups such as refugees or people with disabilities. An Austrian example supported by the European Social Fund+ (ESF+) is featured.
