New ETF report on trends in changing skills demand published
Technological change, the greening of economies, globalisation and demographic factors (including migration) profoundly influence labour markets and workplaces and require new skillsets for individuals to make best use of opportunities while mitigating emerging risks. Together with national, European and international experts the ETF (European Training Foundation) supports partner regions (South Eastern Europe and Turkey, Southern and Eastern Mediterranean, Eastern Partnership, Central Asia) to monitor and analyse trends in changing skills demand (also including skill gaps and skills mismatch) at national, sectoral and territorial level.
The following objectives were defined for the evaluation:
- To perform an in-depth evaluation of the work that currently falls under the ETF activity area;
- to perform a Skills Demand Analysis within the framework of the “Skills Lab” project;
- to assess the range of approaches and methods used in support of the ETF’s anticipatory function across the entire institution.
3s coordinated the project in cooperation with Ockham IPS. Stefan Humpl, Jana Muigg and Jakob Weiss (all from 3s) acted as co-authors.
