EXPECT – Sustainable vocational education and training in Italy

This time, the project participants met south of Rome in the town of Frosinone at the Alessandro Volta vocational school.

The Erasmus+ project EXPECT — Exchanges of Practices in Education for Climate Targets analyses innovative and sustainable education and training pathways in European VET and collects examples of good practice. At the beginning of the Peer Learning Activity (PLA) on 21 and 22 September 2022, there was a personal welcome by the mayor Riccardo Mastrangeli, who presented the sustainability activities of his city. This was followed, among other things, by an exciting presentation by climate activist Stefano Ceccarelli, who explained Italy’s climate policy and climate targets in order to achieve the EU’s “Fit for 55 targets”. In addition to a presentation of the Italian (vocational) education system, several companies also had their say and reported on their sustainable initiatives. The project participants were given an in-depth guided tour of the different training areas of the vocational school, which was taken over by the students themselves.
