Beyond subsidising training costs
Employers play a crucial role in the promotion of lifelong learning by sponsoring a vast majority of continuing vocational education and training (CVET). Micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSME) provide far less employer-sponsored training than larger companies with a considerable share of MSMEs not providing any training at all. The presentation lines out the reasons for this MSME training gap such as lack of financial resources but also other barriers as lack of know-how, awareness and time.
