Turning evidence into action — Skills2Capabilities reports to the EC
On 13 October 2025, the European Commission hosted the “Education and Skills – Horizon Europe Feedback-to-Policy” event in Brussels, bringing together researchers, policymakers, and project representatives to discuss how evidence can shape future EU skills policies.
Daniel Unterweger (3s) and Katarina Wessling (ROA, Maastricht University & BIBB) presented the Skills2Capabilities project, highlighting its research on addressing skills mismatches and supporting more flexible, capability-based approaches to skills development across Europe.
The event offered a platform to link research outcomes directly to policymaking, fostering collaboration between the European Commission and Horizon Europe projects. The exchange underlined the importance of projects like Skills2Capabilities in bridging the gap between evidence and policy to build stronger, more adaptive skills systems.
